About Erik Eriksson Design

When I was a small child, I had a dream of becoming Lego engineer. How ever later school path took me to Information Technology which at the time was the much hyped sector, Finland living in the boosted economy of Nokia mobilephones & networks success, nowhere more so than in my home city Espoo. After few years in that career I was already quite frustrated, but then continued 10 more years regardless in a large construction company. During that time until I was thirty, my duty was all the ITC on the largest building projects and the head office. During that time we build essentially every new or renovated building in Helsinki city center to be what it currently still is, and the subway that goes below seabed, large shopping mall after another and much much more.

I had always massive passion towards all machines and supercars, and when I got my drivers licence just after turning legal 18 year age, the life long passion was cemented. At 25 years old I started to read and take part - hours every day on The Lambo Power forum and the sharp minds of all the entrepreneurs crafting their life fearlessly into their own groove hit me. That was what I had always wanted to be, I just had not had any contact to my innerself before that. So spark was ignited that was not going to go away despite all the uncertainty of being entrepreneur. It took 5 more years to leave the secure but brain and soul rotting construction company IT administration job. I turned 30 the next day from when I was releaved from there. Now what?

Years later in 2019 I had done a design school in the middle, had just been hired to be Art Director in a design company and that went immediately wrong, I had done everything to that company for two years prior kinda off the records, but when I signed the contract I had additional executive title added on top, yet pay was lowest of the low, way lower than we had agreed before, amongs myriad of other things like missing health care and missing lunch breaks etc.. So I resigned on the start of second week and the very next day applied to start my own company, it was to be named after me, I would carry the full responsibility, do my absolute best, challenge my brain power daily and be proud of what I can accomplish. 

Erik Eriksson Design is a design consultancy. I originally started working for Finnish commercial clients in graphic design, mostly logos and brand identitys, but got soon architectural work. Designing from my head a line up of floating 120m2 apartments with sauna section and pools, and few bar versions of them. A refresh of 230 years old mansion and designing it’s spa section with Group B themed Sauna that reached national newspapers. Some transferrable off grid cabins. A 4 story condo with shopping center below on the river front. And redesigning office floor to become copy and paste concept showroom. Also have done architectural visualization of 2496 square meter full service tyre shop which must be largest in our country! I also still retain some of my graphic design customers doing their printed magazine advertisements, expo materials and some custom Land Rover bed covers, and for one company I do only 3D-drawings of their commercial HVAC machines. I have also taken my techno and trance DJ-gigs to the commercial side, another live long passion of mine.

But innovating automotive performance parts has taken more and more center focus of my work. Inventing and engineering new parts is huge joy for me, and I want to apply very critical and creative thinking with deep knowledge and knowhow and try to achieve as close to perfection as possible. For the longest time I have sucked up all and everything there is about understanding in principal level aerodynamics and for last 8 years also designing for additive manufacturing, and a lots of efforts and studying into carbon fiber even before that. My own Z3 Coupe that I have no owned for over 18 years being for long the world’s lightest street driven car with full interior, as it is all hand made functional carbon fiber, and each part losing weight in 1:9 - 1:10 rate compared to original parts. It also works as my summer daily testbed for new Z3 products that I sell. I have 25 years experience in E36 based cars. But lots of my friend group that I go to spirited drives with owns supercars and other sports cars and I am eager to design more parts to those cars in future.

Erik Eriksson Design is fulfilling my dream job for me, a work that does not feel like burden but joy. I am finally doing what I had actually figured out as a child. Although not working for making Lego models but actual working products. After delivering around 300 parts from Finland to organically grown customer base in 50 US states, many places in Canada and UK and all of the Western Europe it was time to launch my own webstore to make things more streamlined. In 2026 I have had pleasure to do several parts to hyper car company CEO, race teams and so fort. I also got amazing opportunity offered to be able to learn and use one of the best 3D-scanners and scanner softwares in our country, an offer that I have also used.

From the spring of 2025 I was invited to take part on continuous basis into Finnish Space Business Forum, one of the most disruptive and fastest growing sectors as a only "3D-print guy". In January of 2026 I was first time introduced to Space & Military sector. And lately I have been in the meeting to possibly be able to design for oncoming moon landing mission. Humbled by opportunities and connections I have had over last year, I want to continue, push my head down and keep working. At the moment of writing this - first of July 2026 - I just spent four weeks doing new E36 filtered turbo headlight intakes to two race cars for the customer overseas. And they have been now added to the shop!
